The following protocols are required for fully vaccinated travelers:


  • The current ferry schedule has been updated as of August 17, 2021. To view the latest schedule, click here. This schedule will be in effect until September 30, 2021. Schedules are subject to change. For more frequent updates, please visit the BVI Ports Authority here. You must prebook your ferry tickets in advance. There is a daily passenger limit of 65. Ferry tickets can be purchased direct with one of the following ferry service operators:
  • Travelers must complete a BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate up to 5 days before traveling, but no later than 48 hours prior to arrival. There is a $35 per person fee for vaccinated travelers. The following documentation is needed for the BVI Gateway Authorization:
    • Proof of a negative PCR test or approved antigen rapid test taken within 5 days prior to arrival.
    • Proof of full vaccination (Vaccination must be 2 weeks after the final dose of Moderna or Pfizer or 2 weeks after the single dose of Johnson&Johnson)
    • Proof of travel insurance that covers COVID-19
    • Travelers can begin to register here.
    • Print a copy of your approved Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate. You may be required to show to airlines or ferry operators, as well as BVI Customs & Immigration.
  • Bring a hard copy of the following items with you:
    • Approved Gateway Authorization Certificate
    • Proof of vaccination
    • Proof of negative test results


  • Have your printed Gateway Authorization Certificate, proof of vaccination, and proof of negative test results readily available, along with your valid passport.
  • You will be screened in the Welcome Center, beginning July 12 fully vaccinated individuals will receive a rapid test upon entry for an additional fee.
  • Pay the $10 per person BVI Environmental Fee (cash only).
  • Maintain 6 feet social distancing around other travelers not in your party.
  • Do not lean on any counters.


  • Be prepared to wear masks when ashore.
  • Onboard snorkeling equipment will be assigned per person during your charter to prevent contamination.
  • Take a PCR test within 3 days of your departing flight back to the US.


  • Be prepared to show your negative test results, from your test taken during your trip, to the airlines prior to boarding.
  • Tortola charges a $20 per person departure tax.


 The following protocols are required for non vaccinated travelers:

  • Must have a completed BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate prior to trip. A $105 per person fee for non vaccinated travelers. Authorization must be completed within 5 days of arrival. Travelers can register here.
  • Travel Insurance must be obtained.
  • Proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test taken 3-5 days prior to arrival.
  • PCR-COVID-19 testing upon arrival in the Islands.
  • Mandatory seven day quarantine, with a PCR-COVID-19 test taken at the end of quarantine. Upon negative results, guests will be released from quarantine.
